The heat index is somewhere between OMG and WTF. 🥵

Another 95° day, with a feels‑like temperature in the 100s.

I was up early, but it was already getting miserably hot.

I managed to get around 30‑gallon bags of squash and okra cut up and put in the freezer.

Badger pre-cooks our dinner.
Keeping the stove on the warm setting doesn't make the house as hot as normal cooking does.
Today, though, she used the crock pot.

Then we found ways to entertain ourselves.

Badger disappeared to her room, and I didn't see her until late. She's working on making a porch sign.

I mostly played on the computer and read.

Once Cowboy woke up, well, he did venture outside.
He stripped copper all afternoon.
I don't know how he managed in the long‑sleeve work uniform under the carport in this heat, but he did.

Then we watched a little bit of TV.
Once the sun set, Badger headed to the porch to stain the sign. That's not an inside-the-house kind of job.

It's 84°, with a feels like 87° and 79% humidity, at 9:42 p.m. It's still miserable out there.

I took a tiny walk up to the stop sign this evening, had Badger grab me a couple of green tomatoes for lunch tomorrow, and then I retreated back to the air conditioning.

Needless to say, it was another stay-in day, so nothing really to write about.
