This hot weather is enough justification for my laziness

We made it to 95° today with a feel like temperature in the upper 100's.
Needless to say, none of us ventured outside.

Well Cowboy went down to the garden and picked squash and okra.
He was going to strip some copper, but after being in the garden, he said forget that.

My air conditioner has become my best friend. ❄️👫

What a way to see June go out, and July come in.

We're under a heat advisory until Thursday.

I stepped outside to feed Imp at 7:30 am.
The temperature was only in the high 70s, but it felt like an oven already.

My street has officially turned into a lazy river

Before Raven came down, Badger told him he needed to bring his own snacks and drinks.
We’re still adjusting to getting paid every two weeks and can’t afford many extras.
It might seem rude or greedy, but that’s five extra people to feed and give drinks to.

Embrace the wild ride

I woke up and sat down at my computer as I always do.
I got caught up on my blogs and social media and really wasn't paying a lick of attention to anything around me.

Badger wakes up about an hour after me.
She goes, “Look what Daddy dragged in from work.”
I'm like, “Where?” and she goes, “How could you miss a giant green toy box?”
Easy, apparently.

“Life is currently testing my sanity”

Today was clean up and hide things day.

Raven and the kids are coming down to spend the night tomorrow.

School around here starts back the end of July, the first of August.

Surviving the whirlwind. 🌪️

I was up at 6:30 am, which makes for a long day.
I can remember a time, though, when that was just my normal wake-up time.
I got the kids grown up.
I got older.
And I got a lot lazier.
Now I'm up around 8 am.

“I didn’t notice when ‘he lives close by’ became one of my greatest comforts—only when it might no longer be true.”

Badger woke up early and made us breakfast.
Biscuits, gravy, and sausage, and she remembered to set my apple butter out.
I really appreciated her.
