Yeah, I Did It, So?

Heron came home today and said that on his way to lunch he saw Badger and another child getting ready to leave school.

They were actually at the front door and opening it.

I guess she saw Heron, or maybe he said something to her, but she decided to go back to class.

Little Picasso

Tonight was Night of the Arts at the elementary school.

Let's just say I'm in no danger of having the next Picasso or Monet.

Seriously though, Heron and Badger did a nice job on their assignments.

Heron's was a baked clay book, and Badger did a clay necklace and a stamped art piece.

November Drips with a Sorrow That the Wind Cannot Carry Away

I'm sitting here sipping my morning coffee, out of a coffee mug, thank you very much.

The kids are all at school and the house is quiet except for Cowboy's soft snores as he naps in the recliner and the tinkle of bells as the cats try to kill each other.

My house is so much fun! I go on a scavenger hunt every time I need something!

I'm sitting here wondering if I can drink coffee out of a measuring cup.

I don't know about anyone else's house, but in our house we have these gremlins that use up every bit of dishware I own and then don't clean up.

I had a sick headache last night and went to bed early.

NO, my house is NOT a mess, its just... domestically challenged

I've not been at home very much since March.

When you're dealing with a crisis in the family, so much gets put aside.

I've never been much of a housekeeper, but I have tried to keep the house reasonably tidy.

But with me not being at home much, and then after Mom died, I just wasn't up to it.

A Reminder That Life Can Change in a Second

We had some excitement yesterday.

We bought the boys airsoft rifles for Christmas.

They shoot soft, plastic BBs.

A shy child is not a child with nothing to say, but one still deciding when it is safe to speak

Mrs. O was at school today.

Progress reports were handed out, and she said that Badger still isn't talking.

Her report has all “Will not tell me” on it.

She said that she knows Badger knows these things, but she just won't talk.

"First haircut for my little princess's: growing up so fast ✂️👧💖"

We took Badger to Great Clips and gave her her first major haircut today.

Cowboy was not happy about it, but she pitches a horrible fit when I try washing and combing it, and it takes a lot of bribing to get her to let me put it in barrettes or a ponytail.

I'm not going to lie, I about cried when I saw all that gorgeous hair fall to the floor.
