Current status: scampering

It's been pretty quiet around here lately.
There are two things I want to remember from today.

Pizza is always a good idea.

Cowboy goes to both services on Sundays and hardly ever misses a one.

With my social anxiety and Badger’s autism, big events wear us out because we can’t control how loud it gets, how crowded it gets, or who wants a handshake or a hug.
We do better with casual outings like museums or restaurants, because they’re not as loud, not as crowded, and we can leave when we’ve had enough.

Done? Just Kidding. There's More

Badger survived the night on my bedroom floor, and I didn’t fall out of bed and try to squish her this time.

Badger woke up and hit the ground running.
She cleaned up the kitchen, which was on my list to do today, but she beat me to it.

Hoppy little moments

We made it out for our weekly groceries, although it kind of seems like a waste of time.
Badger and I stocked up so that we wouldn't have to go out weekly.
There's no changing Cowboy on that.

"Can I order a replacement body, please? This one is constantly malfunctioning."

Badger slept on my floor on a pallet last night.

Around 6 a.m., she was suddenly jolted awake when I fell out of bed and crashed onto her. I think I scared her to death.

Yeah, it went bad. Went real bad. Life sure has a sick sense of humor, doesn't it?

Heron came back from his girlfriend’s house in pain; his body twisted to one side.
He’d been lifting, twisting, and bending over there and ended up messing his back up again.
I told him, from experience, that once you mess up your back, you're going to have to baby it the rest of your life.
But he's young, and he doesn't want to admit that he can't do what he used to be able to.
So he headed on to work, and at work he's on his feet all day on a hard floor.

One-of-a-kind treasures need a little elbow grease. 🛠️

We got Badger to her weekly appointment, and Cowboy and I sat in the car.
He gets an hour-long nap, and I scroll aimlessly through Facebook and Instagram.
Today I finally figured out how to get on Blogger, so I added reading blogs to my waiting-time to-do list.

“You are unique. There is only one you. And that is you there, right here, for better or worse. Except that there is no better, and there is no worse. It’s just you.” ― Sam Neill,

Just a quiet Friday at home

We’ll call this a short and sweet post, just to stay in the habit of writing.

Badger felt bad all day.
She mostly lay around, so it was a stay-in type of day.

A lot of TV, a lot of doing nothing.

I repeat the same routine

Ever wake up, stumble out of bed, and feel like the day ahead is just a replay of the one before, and the one before that, and the one before that?
You think, nope, not today, and head straight back to bed.

Too hot ☀️🔥

Cowboy got home at 5 a.m., so he slept until 11 a.m.
That meant we got on the road to town closer to noon.

It was miserable when I walked outside at 7 am, and by noon it was beyond miserable.
