Springtime: when the world becomes your playground

The kids were up making noise at 8 a.m.
If they were doing it earlier, I didn't hear it.

Cowboy was already up, and he had me and Badger out the door, heading for Kodak by 11 a.m.
We walked around the flea market.
He needed a phone harness, or at least that's what he calls it.

We made it home at 1 p.m., and Raven and the kids were gone.

We quickly grabbed some lunch, rested a bit, and then Badger went skating.
I was playing on the computer when she texted me to meet her at the school.
She said we could go sit by the creek since it was such a pretty day.

So I went to meet her, and we walked down to the creek church.
We were gone for two hours.
We would've stayed longer, but three men showed up.
They were walking up and down the creek, pointing and talking.
I’ve no idea what that was about.

They were the same group of men that had been in Farmer's Daughter's field, and it looked like they were surveying.

I had just gotten to the Baptist church parking lot when Raven called, “Where you at? Zwei is asleep, Daddy is weed eating, and I'm taking the other three to the hardware store.”

I told him I was heading home.
Luckily, I got there before he pulled out.
 I wasn't really needed.
Zwei didn't wake up until they got back.

Once they got back, Badger and I went out to the backyard.
I moved my solar lights to the front of the she-shed.
Once summer comes, the fig bushes will hide them in the back of the she-shed.
Most of the solar lights have quit working, but they're still decorations.
I don't think Heron has any plans for flowers in the front of the she-shed this year.
I may just take the fence down, have Cowboy mow what's left in there down, and make it yard again.

Badger practiced her throwing, and then took pictures of the birds.
I’ve had the yard full of birds lately.
Most of them are grackles, although occasionally I'll get a cardinal or titmouse.

Then we took a small walk around the block and called it a day.

Raven had the kids in bed by 9:30 p.m.
With them not being little TV watching couch potatoes and getting outside, they fall asleep early and fast.

I'm finishing this up and heading to bed myself.
