Raven put the kids to bed at 7:30 p.m.
It’s nice to use my computer in the quiet, but an early bedtime means an early wake-up time.
Who knows when Cowboy will get home from work.
It’s usually around 1 a.m., which doesn’t give him much time to sleep.
By the time Cowboy finished taking care of the chickens and ate dinner, they were already here.
He didn’t get a chance to take a nap before work, and he needed one after getting home at 1 a.m. this morning.
Badger came into my bedroom after Cowboy left for work and suggested we go for a walk so she could get a break from the noise in the house.
Badger and I walked up past the school a bit, turned around, and went down toward the creek church.
We sat by the creek until almost dark.
Aside from a bunch of angry squirrels, it was peaceful.
I would’ve stayed until it was fully dark, but Badger doesn’t like walking in the dark.
Honestly, crossing the railroad track and going down our little wooded path is creepy in the dark.
But it was peaceful.
We came home.
She went to her room and I went to mine.
She doesn’t leave her room much on the weekends unless we go to the store or take a walk, mostly because of her sensory issues.
I usually stay in my room too.
It’s just easier that way.
I was in the middle of a good show on BritBox when Raven opened my door and scared both me and the dog.
Drei had thrown up and he needed cleaning supplies.
I told him the supplies were behind the trash can in the bathroom and went back to my show.
I can handle a lot of things, but cleaning up throw up isn’t one of them.
Soon the house was quiet.
I sneaked out, and he had put them to bed.
I quickly fed my little stray, who loudly reminded me that I was about two hours late.
For a cat who chose outdoor living, she has very firm opinions about her dinner schedule.
I noticed one of my new towels hanging from my snowball bush.
I already knew what was wrong with it.
I brought it in with two fingers and tossed it straight in the tub.
Of course it was messy.
I rinsed it off and sent Raven a text asking him to wash the towel next time instead of leaving it outside, where the wildlife tends to get curious.
And here we are.
It’s not even eleven p.m. yet, and I should head to bed.
We’re going to Morristown tomorrow to get Badger’s camera lenses from the store where they’re on commission.
She didn’t know she’d get a new camera for Christmas and was trying to sell it, but now she can actually use it.
Once we get back from Morristown, I’ll probably spend most of the weekend in my bedroom, so I’m enjoying some time in the living room while the house is quiet.
That’s just how my weekends usually go.
