I don’t need coffee—I choose it… every single morning… forever

Another Keurig bit the dust, although that was not unexpected.
We knew there was some reason we stopped using the red Keurig.
Our morning started with a bleary‑eyed Heron desperately shaking the Keurig, begging it for just one cup of coffee, just one please.
Badger said she did not realize just how addicted to coffee we actually were.
Heron had to stumble off to work without any caffeine.
He works at a bar and pizzeria.
Hopefully they sell coffee

After breakfast, Cowboy went to the Co Op and got both our propane tanks and Heron’s filled.
Then he came home and took me and Badger to Dollar General for a coffee maker.
I planned on getting a cheap drip one, but Cowboy spotted a cheap K‑cup machine and insisted on that instead.
Once we got it home, well, fingers crossed it lasts until the new Ninja shows up.
And fingers crossed the Ninja comes sooner than Thursday
I guess COVID did one thing for me.
After getting it twice, I’m not nearly as coffee‑addicted as I used to be.

We came home, and Badger went straight to her room and stayed there all day.
Raven stayed in his room too.
Cowboy stayed outside until almost dark.
I’m not sure what all he was doing, but he put the propane tanks back in, salted the sidewalk, and probably checked on his chickens.
I did laundry all day.
With everyone wanting the washer, my own laundry gets ignored.
I filled all the bird feeders too.
Cowboy buys forty pounds, and it takes nearly all of it.
After that, I read a little and played on the computer.
It was a long day.

I didn’t notice the exact moment it started, but I’m pretty sure the sleet began around 1 pm and kept on all day.
The car and sidewalk are coated in ice, but Heron said the roads were still fine when he got home around 8 PM.
It’s always the same thing all this hype and drama, and then the system arrives and amounts to nothing.
My area almost never gets real winter weather.

I ended up with a quiet, productive Saturday, so I can’t complain.
But the next time that meteorologist who always cries wolf starts throwing around the S word, I’m tuning it out.

I'm supposed to go to the doctor Tuesday, but I'm cancelling.
 I'm tired of that interstate.
It's not labs, so it's nothing important.
Badger might have a dentist appointment, but the rest of the week will probably be spent at home.

I'm heading to bed.
My book is calling my name.
