I heard footsteps around seven, though I’d been half-aware of movement long before that.
I usually wake up early because I want to, but there’s a difference between choosing to wake up and being woken up.
It’s not pleasant to be pulled out of a sound sleep.
Badger wanted to go to Bass Pro in Kodak so we hit the road.
She didn’t find anything there, so we went on to the Goodwill and Hammer’s in Sevierville.
The Goodwill was torn apart, and there wasn’t much worth digging through.
She did get another log-shaped pillow at Hammer’s.
They had two that looked like real logs, but she picked the camouflage one.
We came home, found some dinner, and Badger and I were settling in to finish our show when Cowboy stuck his head in my bedroom door and said, “let’s go.”
I didn’t bother questioning him.
We ended up at Rural King in Morristown looking for a giant rooster.
I think Cowboy took Chanticleer being stolen personally.
They didn’t have one.
Badger likes to say giant metal roosters are a spring thing unless you look online.
We stopped at Tractor Supply in Morristown, and they told us the Jefferson City store had two Christmas roosters left.
Next thing I know, we’re in Jefferson City grabbing one of them.
This booger is a foot taller than Chanticleer at six feet.
He’s full-on gingerbread, icing and candy and all.
We got sixty percent off and a hundred and eighty dollars taken off because it’s January
Badger already has plans for him once spring rolls around.
He’s getting a paint job.
Until then, I guess I’m living with a Christmas rooster.Little Caesars and Tractor Supply sit in the same shopping center, so we grabbed pizza on the way out.
I knew the kids would eat it, but I couldn’t remember who wanted meat and who wanted cheese.
I made sure to have both.
We came home and left Gingy in the trunk.
There is no room inside for him, and we are not putting him in the carport.
Luckily he was a Christmas display, so he didn’t come in a box, and he came apart easy.
We didn’t know that with Chanticleer.
To be honest, Badger and I grabbed some pizza and hid in my bedroom to finish our show.
I decided the show was more interesting than worrying about what went on outside my door.
With that being said, I’m shutting this tablet and going to sleep.
I’ll clean things up and add pictures when I get back to the computer.
Before I forget, there was a loud, long rumble around 9:30 PM.
The town Facebook page lit up fast.
No earthquakes reported, and the mines aren’t supposed to blast that late.
Earthquake or mine, who can say.
