Badger and I have the routine down pat for the exterminator.
It helps that the house was already clean, and all we had to do was clear off the kitchen countertops.
He was in and out quickly.
I’m not sure how it works, but I’m guessing we’ll switch to outside maintenance.
By the time he left, I had one heck of a headache.
Badger handed me a Tylenol, and I washed it down with a cup of coffee.
She fussed at me for that, but the coffee was right there, and the kitchen was still mostly in boxes on my desk.
Even if I wanted water, I couldn’t reach it.
I offered to help with the kitchen, but she got a bit grouchy with me, so I went and took a good nap.
A couple of hours later, she poked me awake with a plate of pasta and meatballs.
It isn’t her job, and I tell her that, but she’s good about taking care of me.
I try to let her know I appreciate her.
I’m just never sure if I do a good job of it.
When I wandered back into the kitchen, she’d reorganized everything.
She tries hard to keep it tidy, but with Raven and Heron piling stuff on the counters, it’s hard.
The kitchen’s small, and it gets cramped fast.
The real problem is we don’t have enough counter space.
We end up pulling out drawers just to cook.
There’s not much else to say about the rest of the day.
I wasn’t feeling great, and I don’t think Badger was either.
Once Cowboy headed off to work, the rest of the evening was just TV.
A lot of days are like that in January and February.
I did catch up on the laundry.
I started it, and Badger finished it for me.
Heron said he was going to do his laundry after work.
It’s pretty late and he’s not home yet, but it’s not unusual for him to be doing laundry at midnight.
There aren’t any plans tomorrow except for Cowboy’s lab appointment.
He’ll go to that on his own.
At least we’re back to shopping on Thursday, so we won’t have to deal with the cranky Friday crowd.
We’ll have all day Friday to get ready for the grandchildren coming that night.
Trust me, I need to rest up before the chaos hits.
I’m heading to bed and hoping I feel better in the morning.
