I can probably sum up the day in one sentence: it was slow, lazy, and not much happened.
What can one say about a stay-at-home Sunday?
Cowboy goes to morning and evening church services, and the rest of us stay at home.
OK, sometimes we ramble around, but we've not been in a rambling mood lately.
One excitement happened, if you wish to call it that.
Heron had walked down to his RV, then came hobbling back up to the house as fast as he could hobble these days.
"Did Daddy move my kayak, the one behind the RV?!"
We had to wait for Daddy to get home from church to make sure he hadn't gone moving a stray kayak.
Nope.
Sure didn't.
Someone stole a freaking kayak from behind the RV.
The last time Heron remembered seeing it was when he cut the limbs out of his tree.
That was June 11th.
Between working and his back, he hadn't really been in his RV for a while.
Of course the cameras don't cover Heron's RV.
They had to have sneaked in and taken it down through Van Gogh's yard and out by the Senior Citizen Center.
Otherwise, the camera would have caught them.
Hopefully, we'd have heard someone dragging a kayak or struggling to carry it off if they brought it up through the carport or across the yard by the she-shed.
Heron said he wasn't going to call the police.
It was pretty useless to, and he's not even sure when it got stolen.
I did put it up on our town Facebook page, mentioning that this is the second large item stolen from our yard.
That $200 metal yard decoration, 6-foot-tall rooster, also slithered off in the night.
I don't expect anything to be done, but if the thief checks the town Facebook page, at least they'll know we know they're prowling around.
My rooster, though, we have strong suspicions about who stole it, and they've been in jail since April.
We can't blame them this time.
We told Heron he needed to start locking his RV.
He doesn't even lock the doors on that thing.
He was wondering how many times someone may have sneaked into it without anyone knowing.
That's dangerous.
Like this morning, Badger and I were down there really early to clean the RV cats' litter boxes.
We could walk in on someone, or Heron could come home from work after midnight and walk in on them.
If you didn't know better, if you didn't know someone was actually living in it, the RV just looks abandoned, empty, and far enough away from the house for privacy.
After his customary after church nap, Cowboy went outside and worked on putting up a really large light on the carport.
It took him most of the afternoon and a large chunk of the evening once he got back from evening services.
It's not a security light, although that would have been amazing.
This thing is huge!
No, he just needed better lighting to work with when he's staying out there stripping copper all night.
The rest of the day was mostly watching TV, with a small walk or two, and a little bit of bird watching.
That is for me and Badger.
As I said, Cowboy was in his carport, and for once Heron was a bit more active.
Not very much more though.
It doesn't take very much for that back of his to give out again.
And that's it for our Sunday.
